Task: Started tank spacers

Started assembling the T-712 tank spacer brackets today. I'm starting with only the left side first to ensure everything lines up when the tanks are installed before I do the right brackets. I deviated from the plans slightly to ensure proper reach with the rivet gun later on. These will get riveted to the rear baffling on the fuel tanks and then bolted to the main wing spar to secure the fuel tanks in place. I started by marking a centerline on one flange approx 1/32" towards the webbing. I then made a centerline horizontally and drilled a pilot hole.

The pilot holes were opened up to #12 for an AN3-4A bolt.

I then affixed the bracket to the wing spar with 1 bolt and used a square to make sure everything was aligned properly. Next I match drilled the upper and lower two holes #12 using the spar as a guide.

Next I could affix a nutplate to the bracket and use it as a guide to drill the two #40 rivet holes.

Drilled, deburred, and ready for riveting!
